WHAT IS ETC?

ETC means empowering the Corps; Developed to provide financial assistance for active Corps Members under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme

ONLY Corps members in active service.

Loan request with all required documents are processed online through our loan portal – https://portal.empowerthecorps.ng ; Our disbursements or Voucher number generation are within 24 hours once application is completed and the required documents uploaded and validated.

ETC offers the following products:

  • Biz-Starter Package; This package is designed to provide seed capital for business start ups under the SAED programme e.g. Make up business, Baking and Decoration, Events Décor, Soap Making, Hair Dressing, Interior Decoration, Calligraphy, Accessories Production (shoes and bags),Tailoring etc.
  • Cash Package;  This package is a cash loan to assist in personal obligations.

We sell affordable repayments which is driven by your payback period (tenor). No extra charges, Management fees, Processing fees or credit check fees.

A clear copy of the Corps Members’ NYSC ID card, Corps Members ATM card, Clear Passport Photograph & a full NYSC Regalia Photograph, a copy of your posting letter or acceptance letter both of which must be duly stamped and signed.

HOW CAN I APPLY FOR LOAN?

To obtain this loan, you need to register on the ETC loan portal at https://portal.empowerthecorps.ng and join our social network at www.social.empowerthecorps.com.ng  and complete the registration/application process by providing the necessary information and uploading the required documents.

No. The Biz Starter and Cash packages ensure that funds paid directly to applicant’s registered NYSC bank accounts. Other means of receiving your loan are currently in development.

The maximum loan obtainable is NGN45,000 under the Cash Package. This has been determined by Corps Members’ salary (Corps Members’ Allowance). However, you can get up to NGN100,000 if you apply for the Biz-Starter package.

HOW DO I PAY BACK?

You can repay your loans over 3 - 9 months period depending on your choice at the point of application. Note that the choice of tenor affects the loan amount that can be accessed at any time.

A repayment schedule is generated on the ETC Portal for the Corps. Periodic reminders will be sent to you informing you of the due dates for your repayments.

Repayments can be made through our various online channels - Quick teller (search ETC Loan), ATM Terminals; at all banks using PayDirect (ask for Credit Direct Payments); at designated POS terminals in our branches.

An SMS and email notification will be sent within 24hours of payment to confirm receipt. This will also be updated on the ETC portal instantly.

No. All payments must be completed before another loan request can be made.

YES. Payments can be made through any of the repayment channels and once CDL is notified of payment, loan is immediately closed.

Corps member is expected to notify CDL of the transfer / redeployment. However, repayments are expected to continue timely and as scheduled.

YES. However, the tenor available will be a factor of the number of months left for active service for the Corps Member applying.

All loan repayments are to be made regularly as advised and within the tenor selected. Failure to do so would attract penalty. In addition, Corps Members who continue to miss payments will be reported to the NYSC and will have their certificates embargoed until all payments and penalties have been paid to Credit Direct Limited
